Chuo Kagaku --- Supplying Plastic Food Containers that Contribute to a More Convenient Range of Meal Choices the World Over |
Eating habits in Japan have undergone rapid development as people's lifestyles have changed. In particular, the appearance of supermarkets brought with it a new high-volume distribution channel in the form of self-service sales. The resulting high-volume sales system has contributed to major changes in the food buying and consumption habits of the Japanese. And essential to these developments was the availability of disposable plastic food containers.
The plastic food packaging business has undergone enormous growth over a relatively short period of four decades by meeting the demanding requirements of the food retailing industry for hygienic storage, freshness preservation, and reduced loss ratios. It has made a major contribution to the development of food distribution and even today continues to grow.
Nowadays a wide array of prepackaged food products, including prepared entrees, boxed meals, and microwave-ready items, are available to meet the diverse tastes of the public. Such products now constitute a major market underpinning the growth of convenience stores and shops selling takeout food. Through the years Chuo Kagaku has developed new plastic food containers to meet such requirements. In this process we have helped to shape the eating habits of today's Japanese, for example by helping develop markets for new products.
For more than 50 years Chuo Kagaku has been a pioneer in the field of plastic food packaging. In the years ahead, we will continue to supply products that anticipate the requirements of the marketplace. |

| Steadily Advancing Development Technology |
Chuo Kagaku owes its leadership position in the industry to its track record of developing large numbers of new products. Since the company's establishment, we have developed a broad array of materials for plastic food containers, manufacturing techniques, and molding technologies. In this way, we have endeavored to advance our overall manufacturing capabilities through our own efforts. While traveling this road we have registered many patents and utility model rights. In the equipment engineering field, we have created a proprietary production system that delivers a high level of reliability by standards acknowledged internationally.
In addition to the above, Chuo Kagaku manufactures plastic food containers from environmentally friendly materials developed in house. We also have a proven track record of verifying and commercializing a variety of recycling techniques (materials, thermal, and chemical) that enable the reuse of discarded containers. |
